A native of Orange County and a graduate from the University of Wisconsin – Madison with a degree in Botany, I’ve had a lifelong passion for the environment, keeping a healthy diet, and exercise. While volunteering in Brasil for 7 months I helped install water filtration systems in favelas and worked on the creation of self sustaining, organic gardens within these communities. If I’m not writing this blog, I’m working on my water filtration company Evolution Healthworks, surfing, or enjoying a farmers market.

I hail from world famous Toledo, Ohio. At the tender age of 18, I made my way down to the University of South Carolina, where I studied Journalism and developed a palate for some good Southern cooking and Gamecock football. Living a healthy lifestyle is has been my passion since I was a young pup. I love anything to do with the outdoors, whether it’s taking a nice nighttime hike or heading to the beach with a good book. Here in San Diego, I value nothing more than cooking out in the perennial 70-degree weather with a cold brew, friends and of course some tunes.
